50th Anniversary of the Council

All are warmly invited to come to All Saints Church, Hemblington, to view an exhibition looking back not just to the past 50 years, but at the long history of the area. Evidence of flint knapping goes back to the Middle Stone Age, the Romans and Saxons left pottery sherds, and the village is listed in the Domesday Book.

The exhibition is being held in a Medieval building with a unique wall painting of St Christopher and reminders of what pre-Reformation churches contained. There will be original Parish Records, kindly lent by Norfolk Record Office, together with maps, and more recent photographs and memories generously supplied by local people.

You are also invited to attend the formal opening of the exhibition on Saturday, 20th July at 5 pm and the Act of Thanksgiving Service on Sunday morning, 21st July at 9.30 am.

The exhibition will then be freely available to view each day until Sunday, 28th July – daily between 9.30 am – 5 pm (Sundays from 11.00 am).
